The Greene County softball team remains winless on the season, following losses to Carroll and Webster City on Saturday. The Rams lost 7-3 to Carroll and 11-1 to Webster City in five innings.
The Tigers scored four straight runs off pitcher Jenna Beyers to win the game. Beyers allowed five earned runs in seven innings of work with four strikeouts. The Rams’ seven hits weren’t enough, but Beyers brought in two of the team’s three runs with a two-run home run.
In the second game of the day, Beyers was not on the mound, having left the tournament to attend her own graduation from Paton-Churdan after the first game. The pitching duties went to Emma Hoyle. Hoyle allowed 11 runs and gave up 15 hits, while striking out four batters.
The Rams are now 0-3 on the season. Greene County plays Coon Rapids-Bayard Tuesday night in Jefferson.
